Routine Maintenance or Costly Replacement?

It’s been said “if you don’t make time for your health, you will be forced to make time for your illness.” This notion applies to your home as well. What do we mean by your home’s health? Glad you asked. When you walk around your home, do you notice the dust, dirt, mold and algae on your siding, gutters, roof? All of that build up can eat away at your siding. It can erode the material, making it weaker and more susceptible to cracking and breaking.

If you own a home, it’s likely the biggest investment you’ve made so far in your life. So why would you not want to take care of it? Routine maintenance is key to the longevity of your home. What does routing maintenance look like? See our inventory below:

  • Pressure Cleaning in the Spring and Fall

    • Siding

    • Patio

    • Driveway and Walkways

  • Gutter Cleaning in the Spring and Fall

  • Roof Cleaning once per year

  • Window Cleaning Inside & Outside Twice Per Year

These tasks can wind up taking some time. If you would prefer to hire out some of it, we would love the opportunity to partner with you. If you want to tackle them yourself, that’s great! You’ll be thankful when your siding, gutters, roof, walkways, and patio are enduring the weather Wisconsin has year in and year out.

Working With a Professional Team vs a One Man Show

Cleaning your home is a full time endeavor if done right. That’s why so many home owners trust Clear Vision to partner with them to take care of their biggest investment - their home! Working with a professional gives you peace of mind.

Window Cleaning

When you invite a team into your home, you want to know they’ll do a good job and they are trustworthy. You want the peace of mind that they will do a great job and will treat your home like it was theirs. Minding the details of each window is their highest priority. Deploying their process each and every time ensures they deliver a consistent service.

Pressure Cleaning

Knowing the right solution and technique is essential to ensuring your siding doesn’t get damaged. The reason to hire someone to help with pressure cleaning is to get the work done effectively and efficiently. Knowing you have a trusted team that was trained consistently and cares about your home is an important part of the vetting process. Ask your potential partner questions. How do they work? Why should they get to partner with you?

Gutter Cleaning

Gutters must be cleaned out twice a year, every year. Not cleaning out the gutters puts you at risk to have foundation issues, siding damage and possible water damage. If you have mature trees in your yard, chances are your gutters are full of loose leaves, twigs, sticks and debris. Your downspouts and gutters deserve to be cleared out to protect your home from any future issues that could come from neglect. Best practice is to make sure it’s done right.

All of this reinforces home maintenance is essential. If you want to partner with a local company, we would encourage you to ask them - do they have a team? Do they have a process? Do they have a good team that will respect your home? The answers should help you pick the best company to partner with.

Helping Farmers & Families in Our Community

DSCN2461.JPG

When the pandemic hit our community and everyone retreated to their homes, local businesses felt the strain. Local farmers were hit hard and as a result of lower sales were dumping excess milk. Our leadership team grew up on local farms and were struck by the images of this. Seeing the opportunity in the farmer’s struggle, they decided to raise money to provide milk to those who need it in our community.

The idea was simple, match all donations up to 1,000 gallons of milk. We partnered with our affiliate companies Facility Pros and Badgerland Pressure Cleaning to match the donations and were blown away by all of the support. We were inspired by everyone’s contributions! With support of our community we were able to donate a total of 1,325 gallons of milk!

It was important to us that we use a local milk processor, so working with Sassy Cow Creamery was a natural fit. To distribute the milk we turned to the Waunakee School District. They were amazing to partner with. Due to the schools closing, the school district put out communication they would be continuing to provide meals for those who need it. Adding a gallon of milk to this offering made a lot of sense to us!

We also partnered with the Waunakee Farmer’s Market and gave away milk to anyone who stopped by our booth! In addition to the extra milk at the end of the school year, we had extra donations that came through. We decided to keep the support of farmers going with a partnership with Carr Valley Cheese to process fresh cheese curds to give away. We asked if we could create a drive through in the Waunakee Fire Department’s parking lot and they agreed to let us use the space!

All in we were able to achieve what we set out to: support local farmers and families! It was an honor to work with everyone involved. In a time when things were uncertain, we focused on something positive - giving!

Neglecting Your Roof - Can It Cost You Your Homeowner’s Insurance?

Owning a home is a source of pride for many. For some, it’s the largest investment they will make in their entire life. The homeowners we partner with understand that the work that goes into maintaining their property is well worth the time and effort. When they partner with us they also are willing to pay for help in maintaining their home.

We’ve all seen homes that have dark spots on the roof. Some are an aesthetic look or a design. We are talking about the large dark spots on the roof that are clearly not a design feature. Those are in fact mold or mildew spots. Weather is not easy on the exterior of homes. Especially in Wisconsin, we have cold harsh winters and very hot and humid summers. The result can be mold on your roof.

Just like siding, walkways, driveways, stone features, or patios the roof needs to be cleaned. It’s easier to see it on the walkway or driveway or siding. When are we ever walking on our roof or staring up at our roof? The truth is we need to maintain our roof much like we maintain our siding or patios.

It turns out that routine maintenance of your roof can also aid in your homeowner’s insurance policy staying intact. It may seem crazy that a policy can be revoked based on spots on a roof, but it happens! Below is a video of how one homeowner lost their policy due to neglect of their roof.

Fall For Gutter Cleaning

Gutter cleaning. Homeowners who have this task either embrace it as a normal home maintenance activity or they would rather do anything else. We partner with homeowners who understand this essential part of their yearly maintenance list and value our service as giving them back time.

We get it. Cleaning your gutters is not a fun activity to plan a weekend around. To get all the leaves and debris out thoroughly takes time. We advocate cleaning the gutters twice a year if you have mature trees in your yard.

If regular cleaning is neglected you could experience the following:

  • Daming in your gutters

  • Siding and roof damage

  • Infestation issues

  • Damage to the interior of your property

  • Foundation issues or structural failure

Another important piece is properly clearing out your downspouts. If this is not done properly all the other work will be for nothing. Getting it all cleaned out thoroughly is essential to the proper maintenance of your home. So fall in love with your gutter cleaning and either schedule it in your calendar or outsource it to a professional cleaning company.
